Measure I: Milpitas -- Transient Occupancy Tax Last updated Wednesday, October 04, 2000 Summary: "Shall an ordinance be adopted increasing the City of Milpitas transient occupancy tax, which is a tax on the cost of hotel rooms that is paid only by the person renting the room, from eight percent (8%) of the room rate charged to ten percent (10%) of the room rate charged?" More Information: www.sccvote.org/lom.htm
Webmaster: NO Just say no to tax increases! Gil Carroll: NO This tax is paid by non residents and collected by innkeepers in the city. Few of those paying the tax can vote in Milpitas and those forced to collect it are put at a disadvantage to their competitiors outside the city. I believe this tax should be repealled not increased. |
