Measure S: Sunnyvale -- Fluoridated Water Last updated Wednesday, October 04, 2000 Summary: "Shall the City of Sunnyvale accept fluoridated water from its water suppliers?" More Information: www.sccvote.org/lom.htm
Webmaster: NO There is a great deal of debate about the health risks and benefits associated with drinking flouridated water. The scientific consensus is that adding flouride to the municipal water supply does not pose a health risk, but it also does not prevent tooth decay. It does nothing but make the water more expensive, which is reason to vote against fluoridating water. The greater question, however, is should the government be able to put drugs (whether harmful or helpful) into our water supply? I say no, since I would rather have the option of not ingesting the drug or buying it myself if I do want it. |
